Tea or coffee? Plus Dr Norman Bethune

Tea or coffee? Plus Dr Norman Bethune

Was tea or coffee more popular in 1800-1900's Haliburton County? Plus Dr Norman Bethune - under appreciated Canadian.....Chinese saint.

Show notes

This week, Kate talks about the beverage of choice in early Haliburton County history - was it tea or coffee and why? Plus Paul talks about Dr Norman Bethune. A brilliant Canadian medical doctor who dedicated his life to social issues and working for the disadvantaged here in Canada, but also on the front lines in conflicts during WW1, the Spanish Civil War and China's war with Japan during the 1930's. And unfortunately worked himself into an early grave.

Kate Butler is the Director of the Haliburton Highlands Museum. Paul Vorvis is the host of the Your Haliburton Morning Show 7 - 9 a.m. Fridays on Canoe FM 100.9 and streaming on your devices.
