School Days plus Lord Beaverbrook
This week, Kate takes a look at going back to school and school days in early Haliburton County. Plus, Paul has the story of William Maxwell Aitken, better know as Lord Beaverbook, an ambitious Canadian entrpreneur who became wealthy; moved to Britain; became influential in British politics; served in government during both World Wars including becoming responsible for aircraft production in WW2; acquired an extensive media empire and was a philanthropist. Yet he maintained always his Canadian roots and was repatriated to New Brunswick on his death.
