Francis Harvey's family was in 1800's Prescott (near Ottawa) but he had property in Dorset yet he seems to have commuted regularly. Plus, Chinese Canadians who volunteered for behind-the-lines commando duty in SE Asia during WW2.
This week, Kate talks about Frances Harvey who settled in Dorset, Ontario (near today's Algonquin Park), but his wife and children lived in Prescott near Ottawa. Yet Harvey somehow managed to travel back and forth and make it work - during a time of few roads. A definite case of wanderlust. Plus Paul talks about Chinese Canadians who largely weren't accepted into the regular armed forces during WW2 due to discrimination, but were recruited as commandos in the British SOE's Force 136. Their job? Go behind enemy lines in Japanes occupied SE Asia.
